What Happened to Kidneys of Patients with Purpura Nephritis?
Henoch-Schonlein Purpura Nephritis refers to the kidney damage caused by Anaphylactoid Purpura. Anaphylactoid Purpura is a vasculitis disease caused by allergy (drug allergy, pollen allergy and food allergy etc.), and about one third of Anaphylactoid Purpura patients suffer from kidney damage, i.g. Henoch-Schonlein Purpura Nephritis.
The lesion area of Henoch-Schonlein Purpura Nephritis is glomerular mesangial cells. So what happened to kidneys of patients with Purpura Nephritis?
Firstly, kidneys are easily damaged by Anaphylactoid Purpura. It is mainly in connection with infection and allergic reaction. From the standpoint of cytology, if Anaphylactoid Purpura cells are infected on human body, immune complex C3, IgG and IgA etc. will form in quantity in blood and deposit on glomerular capillary mesangial cells, and then lead to damage of immune mediators of glomerular capillary mesangial cells and repair the normal function of epithelial cells.
From the above-mentioned information we can know that the major causes of Purpura Nephritis are infection and allergic reaction. Repeated relapses of Purpura Nephritis may have closed relationship with source of infection and allergen. So finding out allergen and avoiding infection is very helpful to patients with Purpura Nephritis.
