  ——Diary of a girl with Nephrotic Syndrome

  My name is Liu, 22 years old, I studied in Zhangjiakou city. On Aug. 2007, I felt abdominal pain and continued high fever occurs. Then I went to local clinic for transfusion, after two days, my condition did not turn well, what’s more, a generalized edema occurs. I was scared and then went to regional hospital. I was diagnosed with cholelithiasis. Urinalysis indicates that: urine protein +++. Gallbladder surgery was taken but no special treatment done on urine protein.

  I was referred to Subsidiary Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University, and I was diagnosed with Nephrotic Syndrome this time. I received 7 days’ Hormone (Prednisone) impulse therapy, immunosuppressive therapy and Lipid-lowering & anticoagulation treatment. Unfortunately, the curative effect was not satisfactory.
