1. To know the Nephrotic Syndrome(NS), know the symptoms of it first.
1)proteinuria
Generally, the amount of protein in the urine within 24 hours is more than 3.5 g. The amount of protein in urine differs from person to person, which varies from 3.5g to even as high as 30g in 24 hours. In addition, with the disease developing, if patients do not take effective measures, patients will have other symptoms such as malnutrition, anemia, weakness, and even Hyporichosis, no moist in skin. For children, Nephrotic Syndrome will influence their growth.
2) hypoalbuminemia: If there is an appearance ofhypoalbuminemia, the main reason for which is the loss of protein in urine, however, their relation is not parallel completely, because the synthesis of plasma albumin and albumin is rather the result of anabolic balance.
3) hyperlipidaemia
4) Edema: The degree of edema has a positive correlation with the level of hypoproteinemia. However, exceptional cases are not rare. some are not serious, and the edema can just appear in eyelids, and ankles, while some are severe, the edema of whom can spread into the whole body. What’s worse, some may have ascitic fluid. Edema is usually influenced by the intake of sodium, the position of the body, the elasticity of the body, the intake amount of fluid, etc.
2. What are the causes for NS?
1).NS often happens in youngsters, the main outer manifestations
excepting the part of kidney include purpura, stomachache, arthralgia and, etc, in the part of distal extremities.
2) Various kinds of malignancies could arouse NS, even the early clinical manifestation presents as NS. NS could be resulted by such disease as breast cancer, lung cancer, gastric cancer, colon cancer and lymphoproliferative disease, etc.
3) Diabetic Nephropathy(DN) often appears in the diabetic patients
with a history of over 10 years, especially happens in Type 1 diabetes who have not gotten an effective and satisfactory control result.
3. What are the complications for NS?
1) Infection: Due to the loss of abundant immune globulin in urine, the plasma protein thus decreases, which influences the formation of antibody.
2) Electrolyte and Metabolic Disorder: Repeated uses of diuretics or unreasonably long-term intake in salt-free, could result the hyponatremia indirectly; the uses of adrenocortical hormone and large doses of diuretic could result a lot of urine. In such case, hypokalemia could easily occur if the intake of potassium is not supplied in time.
3)Thrombopoiesis: Thrombus easily occur for the patients with DN, and the occurrence rate of membranous nephropathy could especially reaches up to 25%~40%.
4) Coronary Disease: The patients of DN are often accompanied by the symptoms of hyperlipemia and hypercoagulability, so the coronary disease is easily led to occur.
